As the Mayor, I would like to welcome you to Shawville. Established by Irish
settlers in 1873 as a farming community, Shawville continues to enjoy a rich
agricultural heritage. With over 50 shops and specialty stores, surrounded
by many of the original Victorian brick homes, our quaint village has managed
to preserve the old while embracing the new. Shawville is the shopping center
of the Pontiac and is very well supported with health, recreational and
educational facilities. |

is less than an hour's drive from the Nation's capital. Come and relax in
the peace and tranquility of nature, experience the beauty of surrounding
lakes and rivers or take in the spectacular fall colours. Come and experience
the year-round attractions of our community from snowmobiling, cycling, art
